Dr. Paul J. Michaels, M.D.
Dr. Paul Michaels currently serves as the Chairman of the Department of Pathology at Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, Oregon and is also the Laboratory Medical Director for Southern Coos Hospital and Health Center in Bandon, Oregon. Dr. Michaels is also a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Pathology at Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon and is an active participant involved in the teaching program for the OHSU Pathology residents, both via online virtual slide conferences, and as the preceptor for an on-site rural pathology elective rotation in Coos Bay, Oregon.
Dr. Michaels joined Pathology Consultants in 2021 to practice anatomic and clinical pathology, specializing in cytopathology, at Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, Oregon.
Prior to moving to Oregon, Dr. Michaels practiced the past 15 years in Las Vegas, Nevada and Austin, Texas, where he most recently served as an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Diagnostic Medicine for Dell Medical School at the University of Texas, Austin.

Paul loves living on the Oregon Coast and in his spare time enjoys playing tennis, running, hiking, and walking along the beach with his dogs.
